Homeownership Opportunity

Habitat for Humanity offers Flathead Valley families a unique opportunity to build and buy their own homes. Through the help of many volunteers and a number of local businesses, Habitat sells the homes to qualified families at no-profit. The mortgages are no interest and last 30 years. Homeowner mortgage payments are put into a revolving fund to help pay for construction on more homes for Flathead Valley residents.

Family selection is done following fair housing laws. The Fair Housing Act makes it unlawful to discriminate against any person in the sale, rental, advertising, or financing of housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or nation origin. Habitat also operates in accordance with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
